War of 1812 British 4th Regiment of Foot Cross Belt Plate. I am happy to say, this is the second time I have had a chance to own this cross belt plate. Recently acquired from the James Kochan collection. A true rarity. The only one I have ever seen for sale, and have had the opportunity to own not once but twice. The plate comes with wonderful provenance. The 4th Kings Own Regiment is well known for it's participation in the battle of Bladensburg and the capture of Washington. The plate measures 3 1/2 inches (88.9 mm) x 2 1/2 (63.5 mm) inches. The top hook is partially intact. Both paws are present. See pictures. Below is a link for the regiments history.
